#1000 – The first ever video game you played

21 Oct

What better way to start off this list of awesomeness than going all the way back to what made us gamers in the first place? Everybody remembers their first time(I’m talking about games here people, so get your mind out of the gutter). Maybe you grew up in the 70s and were lucky enough to have Pong as your first gaming experience. Or maybe you were born in the 90s or later and are fond of the first time you played a Playstation or Xbox game. Whatever the case may be, there is no denying that the first video game you ever played is as fond a memory as your first day of school or losing your first tooth.

Being born in the late 80s, I missed out on the launch of the Nintendo Entertainment System, so despite having great games like Super Mario Bros. and The Legend of Zelda, I missed out and started gaming in the 90s. The first game I remember ever playing was Tetris for the original Game Boy. My sister had actually won the handheld in a draw at her workplace and brought it home where her little 3 or 4 year old brother (that’s me!) stayed glued to it forever. Not only was it memorable because it was my first game ever, it still remains one of my favourite games ever! I guess it can be credited as what has led me to the gamer I am today.

So take a trip down memory lane and remember what started that road to gaming bliss all those years ago.

AWESOME!
